This WES activity will assist the Asyut Water and Wastewater Company to target the reduction of Non-Revenue Water and to continue its efforts to improve Non-Revenue Water management.
An increased water demand, combined with an expected decline in water supplies due to climate change, is leading to serious water scarcity in Morocco. This also entails in a significant increase in water-related costs. This activity will therefore support Morocco to elaborate strategies for cost recovery and tools in relation to water production.
WES will provide technical assistance and strengthen the capacities of the non-EU Mediterranean countries to implement effective measures to phase out Single Use Plastics (SUP). In this framework it will support WES Partner Countries in the formulation of the most appropriate and regionally harmonized measures/policy instruments to phase out Single Use Plastics and promote a circular economy. The activity will also contribute to the co-development of a set of guidelines to address Single Use Plastics in the Mediterranean.
This WES activity will conduct an evaluation of new methods to reduce the cross-subsidies in the water tariffs of the agricultural sector in Israel.
Through Private Sector Participation, WES is aiming to increase financial ability for self-finance and enable applying the tariffs
WES will conduct a diagnosis for the performance of Non-Revenue Water in a pilot utility and develop a plan for improvements focusing on minimum cost of interventions with fast investment paybacks.
