RE-4-P2P: Management of Construction & Demolition Waste (C&DW)

Taking up from the groundwork achieved by SWIM-H2020 SM and aiming to support the PCs in the implementation of tools to monitor and classify C&DW (and WEEE), a short user-friendly publication will be produced on the tools available, targeting policy makers. Opportunities to locally valorise the materials (circular economy approach), effectively engaging the local stakeholders, using PPPs will be highlighted.

WES project will partner and capitalise on the work achieved on urban waste management by the EU funded ENI CBC MED Med4Waste project, with particular emphasis on organic waste and circular economy through adapting waste management plans. WES will transfer the related findings, case studies, best practices, plans to the WES PCs’ policy makers and practitioners.

RE-7-REG: Regional activity on Best Practices in promoting circular economy and achieving waste reduction in the Mediterranean

WES will implement a regional assessment of high- and low-tech solutions including but not limited to awareness-raising hat have been successfully implemented in Mediterranean countries and elsewhere (e.g. in the EU) in order to achieve waste reduction and to promote the principles of a circular economy, relevant to the Mediterranean countries’ context and needs.

N-E-LB-PS-P2: Investigating and developing a compendium with successful approaches of EPR system for plastics in Lebanon and Palestine

This activity is to develop a compendium detailing successful approaches in the wider Mediterranean and beyond with all generic recommendations for the needed steps to be communicated to Lebanon and Palestine with a view to encouraging more ambitious EPR schemes to bring about a more sustainable use of plastics.

N-E-TN-P4: Reinforcement of the political and legal measures undertaken by Tunisia for the reduction and prohibition of certain types of single-use plastic packaging

WES will identify the bottlenecks (technical, legislative, financial) in the application of the plastic bag banregulations and will propose actions to remove and overcome these constraints and a roadmap for an extension of the measures aimed at reducing and banning certain single-use plastic packaging in Tunisia.
