RE-1-REG: Phasing out single-use plastics in the Mediterranean
WES will provide technical assistance and strengthen the capacities of the non-EU Mediterranean countries to implement effective measures to phase out Single Use Plastics. In this framework it will support WES Partner Countries in the formulation of the most appropriate and regionally harmonized measures/policy instruments to phase out Single Use Plastics and promote a circular economy.

RE-2-REG: Understanding better microplastics and identifying how to address the issue
Technical assistance will be provided to address microplastics intentionally added in products or production processes through a publication that will provide policy makers with an overview of the different aspects of the microplastics issue. It will also highlight specific solutions that could be of relevance particularly for southern Med Countries (from policy to technological developments).
N-E-MO-2: Consolidation actions for the ongoing marine litter activities in Morocco «Assistance on marine litter monitoring and management in Morocco»
Support will be provided to finalise the national action plan based on the consolidated findings of ongoing marine litter activities and for the implementation of selected priority measures. It will also support Morocco's efforts to meet its commitments under the Barcelona Convention.
N-E-LB-2a:Technical assistance in tackling the pollution of the Mediterranean Sea by combatting pollution from plastics: Marine Litter Monitoring
This activity will provide support to the implementation of the national monitoring programme of Lebanon with regards to marine litter. It will contribute to the analysis of single-use plastics activity (data analysis, sector assessment, technical measures accompanying the conversion of plastic bag manufacturers, the proposal of a policy) leading to a legal text for the progressive phasing out of plastic bags.
N-E-IL-P1: Contribution to the development of a joint public-private road map to transition away from the use of plastic polymers in Israel
WES will develop a policy guidance to ban plastic polymers that disrupt the sorting and recycling of plastics.
N-E-DZ-1: Support for the monitoring and management of marine litter in Algeria
WES will support the implementation of the Regional Plan for the Management of Marine Litter in the Mediterranean and the Integrated Monitoring and Assessment Program of the Barcelona Convention for Algeria. This will be done by generating data adapted to needs on the quantities, types, composition and sources of marine litter on the sea surface and on the seabed and by identifying management measures to combat tf marine litter.
