RE-8-REG-P: Regional activity on Mediterranean “Champions” of plastic pollution prevention

This activity is to encourage voluntary actions and motivate advancement and commitment in combating plastic pollution. It will set-up and implement a Call for Expressions of Intent for Mediterranean actors to propose new actions and innovative solutions that prevent plastic pollution in the region. Those who will deliver on their commitment will be awarded with the honorary title of “Champion in addressing plastic pollution” in WES PCs.

RE-3-REG/ST/P2P: Innovative Circular Economy Business Models in the Mediterranean region

A brief user-friendly publication will be produced targeting policy makers who have an important role to play in order to enable the shift towards a circular economy. In addition, successful experiences will be disseminated to encourage others to act. WES will also engage with Business Support Organisations to develop national capacities to unlock the circular economy in the Region.

N-E-JO-1: Contribution to the development of a joint public-private roadmap to reduce the use of Single-Use Plastics in Jordan

In Jordan, a transition away from Single-Use plastics is urgently needed in order to protect the environment. WES will provide support to the country's green and circular economy agenda and provide a Roadmap for the transition away from Single-Use Plastics (SUPs) at household and commercial levels.

N-E-DZ-2: Support for the promotion of Sustainable Consumption and Production and Circular Economy

Support will be provided for the development of the strategy on Green Economy in line with the new National Strategy for Waste Management (Horizon 2030). It will include improving green banking, expansion of subsidies and available funding mechanisms to the private sector and cooperation with the private sector through the implementation of a "Second generation" of contracts with industrial companies to improve environmental performance, law enforcement and social responsibility including on circular economy and Sustainable Consumption and Production.

RE-4-P2P: Management of Construction & Demolition Waste (C&DW)

Taking up from the groundwork achieved by SWIM-H2020 SM and aiming to support the PCs in the implementation of tools to monitor and classify C&DW (and WEEE), a short user-friendly publication will be produced on the tools available, targeting policy makers. Opportunities to locally valorise the materials (circular economy approach), effectively engaging the local stakeholders, using PPPs will be highlighted.

RE-7-REG: Regional activity on Best Practices in promoting circular economy and achieving waste reduction in the Mediterranean

N-E-LB-PS-P2: Investigating and developing a compendium with successful approaches of EPR system for plastics in Lebanon and Palestine
